PRESS RELEASE: DRUMMER NEWS

June 14, 2010

One of the founding members of the Dutch rockband Noir, Mark Gerlsma, has decided to quit as a drummer. Mark will not be able to commit to Noir for a full 100%, because he has been offered a fulltime job as a physiotherapist. He has been a driving force of the band since 2005.

Mark will be replaced by Sven Jurgens. Sven already filled in for Mark during a few shows in The Netherlands and Belgium last year. He also plays in That Sunday Smell and Ortega.

Noir is a band founded in 2005. The band has played a little less than a hundred shows in the Netherlands and abroad since then and has played at festivals like Eurosonic and the Liberationfestival. Last year, Noir set up the project ‘The Berlin Wall of Sound’. Noir went to Berlin, together with more than 170 (bass-)guitarplayers from The Netherlands and Germany, to create a wall of sound at a place where the Berlin Wall once stood. This happened exactly 20 years after the fall of the Wall, on the 9th of November, 2009.
