PRESS RELEASE: DRUMMER NEWS

June 14, 2010

One of the founding members of the Dutch rockband Noir, Mark Gerlsma, has decided to quit as a drummer. Mark will not be able to commit to Noir for a full 100%, because he has been offered a fulltime job as a physiotherapist. He has been a driving force of the band since 2005.

Mark will be replaced by Sven Jurgens. Sven already filled in for Mark during a few shows in The Netherlands and Belgium last year. He also plays in That Sunday Smell and Ortega.

Noir is a band founded in 2005. The band has played a little less than a hundred shows in the Netherlands and abroad since then and has played at festivals like Eurosonic and the Liberationfestival. Last year, Noir set up the project ‘The Berlin Wall of Sound’. Noir went to Berlin, together with more than 170 (bass-)guitarplayers from The Netherlands and Germany, to create a wall of sound at a place where the Berlin Wall once stood. This happened exactly 20 years after the fall of the Wall, on the 9th of November, 2009.

WEEKENDTOUR: POST-THOUGHTS

May 28, 2010

We had a great time yet again during our mini-tour last weekend. Knokke-Heist was a blast, thanks to Koen (best steak ever!) and the Iron Horses Motor Club, Twi, Emily, Katje, Diego and of course Sofie!
After that we experimented with our acoustic show in Amersfoort, to great success. We had a very special act in Jowan, who opened the evening for us. He will be opening more often for us in the future, so be sure to come check that out! Thanks to Henk (and the people who came to see us) for making this all possible!
And last, but not least, Heerenveen. It was a hot show! Shady Lane was great as always, and we had a great opener again in Jowan.
We hope to see you all on the road again! Next gig will be June 5th in Cafe De Dokter in Harlingen with Kudra Mata and Greyline!
